Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
WIN conducts trainings on the role of media in promoting Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) in media organisations and in media content; and offers support to media organisations to create internal GEDI policies, inclusive content and conduct GEDI assessments within their organisations.
Gender Balance in Content
WIN conducts training and provides resources on Gender Balance including a 3-part e-learning course as well as in-person training that is delivered to all of our Accelerator participants. We also offer in-house training and bespoke consulting to our Advisory partners, which includes regular content tracking and feedback reports.
We are in the final stages of developing an automated tool that can be used by organisations and individuals.
A Gender Balance Guide for the Media and an interactive digital tool are important resources to help our experts deliver training on identifying implicit bias practical approaches to improve gender balance in content.
Sexual Harassment In The Media
WIN delivers bespoke, confidential training to news media on how to manage and reduce sexual harassment. Our training targets media managers as well as newsrooms. We have built up a consortium of regional and global experts who deliver this training and coaching work to WIN Advisory partners, participants in the WIN Accelerator, and industry associations.
Women in News has developed a practical toolkit for media employers and employees to deal with and prevent sexual harassment in their media organisations. The toolkit is currently available in English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Cambodian, Vietnamese and Burmese.
