WAN-IFRA organizes workshop for women journalists at Al-Watan newspaper in Egypt

After the success of the Media Management Training attend by 30 women journalists from the Middle-East and North Africa, the First Women in News Forum and the Women in Ramadan Series panel organized in Egypt during the second year of Women in News program, WAN-IFRA and Al-Watan newspaper in Egypt collaborate to deliver an exclusive training for Al-Watan newspaper’s women journalists. 

In collaboration with Al Watan newspaper, WAN-IFRA organized an exclusive training for the newspaper’s women journalists on Thursday, July 20, 2017 as part of its Women in News program. The training was attended by 15 journalists, along with Fatemah Farag, Women in News regional director in the Middle-East and North Africa. Farag announced the beginning of the training welcoming participants and presenting Women in News activities, highlighting the possibility of organizing another training for Al Watan newspaper’s women journalists according to their needs.

The first session, delivered by Fatma Kheir – Women in News national coach in Egypt, focused on “How to create a career roadmap” where Kheir presented motivational videos featuring successful figures. The second session focused on time management skills and setting priorities.

To conclude the training, Kheir shared with participants WAN-IFRA’s career roadmap sample to be used by Al Watan’s women journalists as a model to create their own 3 to 5 year career roadmap.
