WAN-IFRA organizes a National Gathering for WIN participants in Jordan

As part of its leading Women in News program in the Middle-East and North Africa, and in collaboration with Al Ghad newspaper, World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) organized a National Gathering for Women in News program’s Jordanian participants on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Al Ghad newspaper’s offices to discuss topics related to journalism in Jordan. 

During the gathering, participants presented projects they initiated since the beginning of the program and are currently working on implementing. In addition, Dr. Sakher Khasawne, Professor of Legislation at the Jordan Media Institute, spoke about laws regulating journalism in Jordan and internet crimes. Thamer al-Awayshe, online and data journalism trainer and journalist at Al-Ra’i newspaper, spoke about digital media and presentation skills. 

This National Gathering was organized to complement the Media Management Training attended by prominent female journalists from Jordan. WAN-IFRA previously organized a panel in Jordan in June 2017 under the patronage of Minister of State for Information H.E. Dr. Mohamad Al-Moumneh.
